11 Coyotes Named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named Emma Erickson, of The University of South Dakota, one of five recipients of the Women’s 2008 Division II Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. In addition, 11 Coyotes have been named to the USTFCCCA Division II Women’s All-Academic Track and Field Team.

USD Coach Derek Miles Makes U.S. Olympic Team After Winning Men’s Pole Vault Competition
EUGENE, Ore. – Derek Miles, an assistant coach with The University of South Dakota track and field team, won the men’s pole vault at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Eugene, Ore., on Sunday. As a result, Miles has made the U.S. Olympic Team for the second straight time (2004, 2008).

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Stephanie Gebhart of The University of South Dakota has been named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America women’s cross country/track & field second team. The women’s Academic All-American squads, which were announced by CoSIDA on Wednesday, were determined by a vote of the nation's sports information directors.
